Terms of Service
Last updated: August 28, 2026 · This is the English version of the German terms. The German version is the legally binding original; in case of discrepancies the German version prevails.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the browser-based space strategy game Solitude, accessible at https://www.solitude-space.com, including all associated websites, features and services (together the “Game”). The Game is operated by MountainLabs UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Vulkanstraße 48, 53179 Bonn, Germany, e-mail: info@mountainlabs.eu (“we”, “us”, “MountainLabs”). By creating a player account or by playing the Game, you accept these Terms.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or legal guardian, particularly for any purchases. Each player may operate one account per game world, is responsible for all activity under the account, and must keep login credentials confidential. Impersonating other players or MountainLabs staff is prohibited.
2. Nature of the service
Solitude is a free-to-play browser game with optional in-game purchases (Stardust, premium subscriptions, cosmetic items) and optional rewarded video ads. The Game is provided “as is”; we aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We develop the Game continuously and may add, change or remove features at any time (see our update cadence). Virtual items and currencies have no real-world value and grant no ownership rights — they are limited, non-transferable licences to use features within the Game.
3. Fair play and prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- use bots, macros, scripts or automated tools to play the Game;
- exploit bugs or errors (“exploits”) instead of reporting them, or gain unfair advantages by any technical manipulation;
- operate multiple accounts in a way that unfairly benefits a single player or alliance (multi-accounting), or share accounts;
- sell, buy or trade accounts, in-game currency or items for real money or third-party services;
- harass, insult or defame other players, or publish unlawful, hateful, discriminatory or extremist content;
- upload or distribute malware, phishing links or other harmful code;
- interfere with the technical operation of the Game (e.g. denial-of-service, scraping of non-public interfaces, reverse engineering beyond the limits permitted by law).
Violations may result in warnings, temporary or permanent suspension of the account and — in case of paid fraud — legal action. If you discover a bug or exploit, report it via the in-game feedback function; we reward responsible disclosure at our discretion.
4. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds
Purchases are processed via external payment providers (e.g. Xsolla, Stripe). Prices are displayed before each purchase. Premium subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current billing period via your payment provider or by contacting us. Statutory consumer rights (including withdrawal rights where applicable) remain unaffected — for the EU, the 14-day right of withdrawal applies unless the purchase was fully consumed with your express consent. Refund requests: info@mountainlabs.eu.
5. Community and communication features
Chat, forums, alliance communication and similar features are user-generated content. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Game (including displaying forum posts to other players). We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law. Moderation decisions can be appealed once via e-mail.
6. Discord community server
Our official Discord server and the automated role verification via /verify-user.html are voluntary community offers. By verifying, you consent to your Discord user ID being linked to your game account for role assignment (see our Privacy Policy). The server is subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines in addition to these Terms; our moderation standards apply equally on Discord and in-game.
7. Availability, maintenance and termination
We may perform maintenance, update the Game or temporarily take it offline. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via the in-game settings or by contacting us; deletion removes account and content data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MountainLabs is liable without limitation only for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, liability is limited to the breach of essential contractual duties (cardinal obligations) and to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability for indirect damage, data loss beyond game progress, or lost profits is excluded. The statutory product liability law remains unaffected. As the Game is free-to-play, liability for purely free services is further limited according to the legal provisions applicable to gratuitous transactions (§§ 521 ff. BGB analogously).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms when the Game or the legal situation changes. Material changes will be announced in the Game (e.g. via the news feed). By continuing to play after the announcement you accept the amended Terms; the current version is always available at this address.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by German law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer residing in the EU, the consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain applicable, and you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence. Otherwise, the courts of Bonn, Germany, have jurisdiction (unless a different place of jurisdiction is mandatory).
